Disney World & Universal Pressed Pennies: Every Design I Collected
- Most machines now take cards: $1 per coin, or all 8 designs in one machine for about $5
- Coronado Springs had no machine, so the Grand Floridian set of 8 was the resort option
- Pick a coin holder with a plain inside pattern so your coin designs are easy to see

- 👜 Coin Holders for Your Pressed Pennies
In this post I’m sharing the pressed coins (pressed pennies) I collected while traveling around Walt Disney World and Universal Studios. All over the theme parks you’ll find pressed penny machines that stamp a character or logo onto a one-cent coin.
These days most machines are the newer type, so you don’t actually need to insert a coin. You pay by card, and the machine automatically dispenses the stamped coin. They usually cost $1 each, and if you buy every design in the same machine, you get all 8 for about $5.
Merchandise is useful but on the pricey side, so I really love collecting pressed pennies — an easy, affordable hobby. They’re also a perfect way to remember where you’ve been. If you spot a pressed penny machine in a theme park, give it a try!
Now let me show you the designs I actually collected.
1. Walt Disney World – EPCOT

Mickey – EPCOT (Norway)
I got this one in the Norway pavilion of EPCOT’s World Showcase. Mickey in a Viking helmet was just too cute.
2. Walt Disney World – Animal Kingdom

Mickey – Animal Kingdom
I found this machine while wandering around Animal Kingdom. Mickey dressed as a jungle explorer fit the park’s atmosphere so well that I chose it right away.
3. Walt Disney World – Hollywood Studios

Mickey – Hollywood Studios
Unfortunately it didn’t say “Hollywood Studios,” but there was a design featuring the park’s signature show, Fantasmic!, so I bought it.
4. Walt Disney World – Magic Kingdom

Mickey and Minnie – Magic Kingdom
I chose the design with Mickey and Minnie together, Disney’s signature mascots. It’s a classic, but always adorable, so I got it right away.

Tinker Bell – Magic Kingdom
There was also a design of Tinker Bell, my all-time favorite, so I got that one too.
5. Walt Disney World – Magic Kingdom Princess Series (Set of 8)
I bought these at Magic Kingdom, but this set didn’t say “Magic Kingdom” either. Still, the princess lineup was so good that I bought the full set of 8 ($5) on the spot.

Cinderella

Snow White

Sleeping Beauty

Rapunzel

Tinker Bell

Elsa

Anna

Merida
When you think of Magic Kingdom, you think of princesses!
6. Walt Disney World Resort – Grand Floridian
Coronado Springs Resort, where I stayed, didn’t have a pressed penny machine, so I got these at the Grand Floridian, where we spent our last night. This machine had my favorite Tinker Bell plus all of Mickey’s friends, so I also bought the full set of 8 for $5.

Mickey

Minnie

Mickey and Minnie

Donald Duck

Goofy

Pluto

Tinker Bell

Bambi
A really great set.
7. Universal Orlando – Universal Studios Florida

I picked a design with the Universal Studios logo. The machine was inside the SpongeBob store, and the SpongeBob design with a star was so cute!
8. Universal Orlando – Islands of Adventure

This one has the Islands of Adventure logo, so I bought it right away. If I remember correctly, the machine was near the gift shop you exit into after riding The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man.
👜 Coin Holders for Your Pressed Pennies
Both Walt Disney World and Universal Studios sell coin holders for storing pressed pennies.

There aren’t many designs to choose from, but they’re perfect for keeping your coins neat and tidy.

That said, the inside pattern on the one I bought was so busy that the coin designs were hard to see. I’d recommend choosing one with a plain pattern inside.
