Universal Orlando Ride Photos: Photo Package Prices and How to Buy

In this post I’ll cover the prices and download options for Universal Orlando’s on-ride photos, plus my own experience contacting support after I lost my QR code.

At Universal, you can buy the photos that are taken automatically on the attractions. At first, I bought every photo individually. But it turns out that, just like at Disney, there are packages that let you download unlimited photos. I’ll explain everything in detail so you don’t miss out like I did.

A package lets you download unlimited photos taken during the number of days you choose. You can activate it for that many days at any point within 30 days of purchase.

✔ Photo spots

The parks have attractions and photo spots where your picture can be taken. Here are the Photo Spot Maps.

• Universal Studios Florida

• Islands of Adventure

• Epic Universe

• Volcano Bay (water park)

(As of the latest update, most roller coasters and 4D attractions have on-ride photos.)

✔ How to buy individual photos

Even without a package, you can look at the photos taken that day and buy them individually.

📌 In person (photo kiosk)

When you come off a ride, there’s a screen right in front of you showing the photos, and you can pick yours there.

• Printed photo: around $28 (prices may change → check the current price on site)
• Digital original: $26.62

If you buy digital, you get a receipt with a QR code, and you can download your photo through the QR code starting about 30 minutes later. Carrying printed photos around seemed like a hassle, so I bought everything digitally.

📌 Buying online

Scan the QR code next to the kiosk or go to the link, then find your photo by the time you rode and buy it directly.

✔ Online price: $24.99 (about $2 cheaper than in person!)

With online purchases you don’t have to worry about losing a QR receipt, so I recommend buying online.

⚠️ Important! Photos disappear from the system after about a day, so be sure to save the ones you want right away.

✔ How to recover photos if you lose your QR receipt

My biggest panic moment… I lost the QR receipt for a digital photo I’d bought in person. I thought I’d lost $26.62 and the memory along with it… 😭 But don’t worry. There is a way to recover it!

They don’t reply quickly. I emailed on 10/7 and got a reply on 10/22. But I got my photo back, so it was well worth the wait!

📌 Information to include in your email

• The name of the attraction you rode
• The photo purchase date & time shown on your payment record
• The last 4 digits of the card you paid with

After I sent this information, they sent me the photos I’d bought. I also had the same photo charged twice because of a shopping cart error, and after emailing them about it, I got a refund for one of them. If this happens to you, don’t panic: just email them and ask for your photos!
