Summer is on its way, so let me introduce a domed ballpark that’s perfect for watching baseball when it’s hot outside ⚾️ In this post I’m sharing my experience watching a game at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul! I’ve packed in only the info that will help on game day: how to book, ticket discounts, how to preview seat views, and food 😊

📍 Stadium Location

👉 15 Gyeongin-ro 53-gil, Guro-gu, Seoul (Gocheok Sky Dome, 고척스카이돔)

How to Book Seats

1️⃣ Booking Online

✔ Sign up with the Kiwoom Heroes, then book on the website or app (no booking fee)
👇 Kiwoom Heroes ticketing page
https://heroesbaseball.co.kr/ticket/normal/viewPurchase.do

🔗 Single-game tickets

✔ Sign up with NOL Ticket (the Korean ticketing platform formerly known as Interpark Ticket), then book on the website or app (booking fee: 1,000 KRW per ticket)
👇 NOL Ticket Kiwoom Heroes page
https://ticket.interpark.com/Contents/Sports/GoodsInfo?SportsCode=07001&TeamCode=PB003

🔗 NOL Ticket

  • Tickets go on sale 7 days before the game at 2 p.m.
  • Up to 4 tickets per account
  • You can cancel until 4 hours before the first pitch
  • From the day after booking, a 10% cancellation fee applies, and the booking fee is not refunded.

2️⃣ Discounts

Kiwoom Heroes ticket discount table

Unusually, the Kiwoom Heroes offer a discount for people who live or work in Guro (구로) or Yeongdeungpo (영등포), the districts around the stadium, on outfield reserved seats only. It’s 5,000 KRW off on weekdays and 2,000 KRW off on weekends, so if you live or work in Guro or Yeongdeungpo, be sure to use it!

(Note: when you pick up your ticket at the on-site ticket booth, you need to show an ID card or a company business card!)

3️⃣ Tips for Catching Cancelled Tickets

This game was Kiwoom vs. Samsung, and as expected it sold out fast… I thought it would be easy since Kiwoom has a smaller fan base, but no luck 😭 So once again I went for cancelled tickets, which Korean fans call “chwiketing” (취케팅, cancellation ticketing).

From catching cancelled tickets many times:

✔ Between 5 and 4 hours before the game on game day
👉 This is when the most tickets are released (the key tip!)

✔ Some also appear the evening before the game
👉 but the chances are lower.

For a 2 p.m. game, I kept refreshing between 9 and 10 a.m. on game day and finally got one! After 10 a.m. no more cancelled tickets come out, so you might as well give up (better luck next time… 😅)

4️⃣ Seating Map

Seats are broadly divided into table seats and cheering seats.

5️⃣ Ticket Prices by Seat

Weekend prices are a bit higher than weekday prices, and they go up again during the peak summer season (May 19 – September 6), when baseball is most popular.

My Game Day Review

I managed to catch cancelled tickets and went two days in a row. On the first day I sat in the 3rd-base 4th-floor reserved seats (4층 지정석), and on the second day in the center 4th-floor reserved seats.

1️⃣ 3rd-Base 4th-Floor Reserved Seat View (Section 421, Row L)

View from section 421, row L, 3rd-base 4th floor

First up is the view from the 3rd-base 4th-floor reserved seats, on the away team’s side. Photos make things look smaller than they really are, so what I actually saw felt more like the photo below.

Zoomed-in view from section 421 closer to what I actually saw

The cheering stage on the 1st-base side (응원단상, the platform where the team’s cheer squad leads the chants and songs) is out of the line of sight, so you can’t see it at all.

View toward the 1st-base side from section 421

Cheering stage on the 3rd-base side seen from section 421

The 3rd-base cheering stage is visible, but it’s too far away to see in detail.

Scoreboards seen from section 421

Still, both scoreboards are very easy to see from here!

2️⃣ Center 4th-Floor Reserved Seat View (Section 415, Row N)

Next is the center 4th-floor view from my second day.

If you want to check the view from other seats, try the virtual view provided by the Kiwoom Heroes:

3️⃣ Snack Recommendation for the Ballpark

When it comes to ballpark snacks, nothing beats Homerun Ball (홈런볼), a classic Korean snack of small puffs with a chocolate filling made by Haitai! Ads for it pop up again and again during the game, so you’ll keep craving it. You can buy it at the convenience store inside the stadium, but buying it beforehand works out much cheaper, so stock up and bring some along~

Food and Drink Map

1️⃣ Food and Drink Inside the Stadium

There are plenty of shops around the stadium, so some people bring takeout food in, but there are also food and drink stands inside. Here’s a link to the stadium’s food and drink map, so you can check the stands and easily find the one you want:
