As the weather gets nicer, more and more people are heading to the ballpark for a day out or a date ⚾️ This time I’m sharing my experience watching a game at Daegu Samsung Lions Park, which fans call “Rapak” (라팍) for short! I’ve packed in only the info that will help on game day: how to book, the view from the upper SKY reserved seats, tips for catching cancelled tickets, and food 😊

How to Book Seats
1️⃣ Booking Online
✔ Ticketlink (a Korean ticketing site and app)
👇 Ticketlink Samsung Lions page
https://www.ticketlink.co.kr/sports/137/57
- Tickets go on sale 7 days before the game at 11 a.m.
- Up to 6 tickets per account
- You can cancel until 4 hours before the first pitch
My game was against LG, and since Samsung was on a winning streak at the time, it sold out in no time… I logged in right when sales opened, but there were no seats left, so I failed to book and ended up going for cancelled tickets 😭
2️⃣ Tips for Catching Cancelled Tickets
From catching cancelled tickets many times (Korean fans call this “chwiketing”, 취케팅):
✔ Between 9 and 10 a.m. on game day
👉 This is when the most tickets are released (the key tip!)
✔ Some also appear the evening before the game
👉 but the chances are lower.
I kept refreshing between 9 and 10 a.m. on game day and finally got one! After 10 a.m. no more cancelled tickets come out, so you might as well give up (better luck next time… 😅)
3️⃣ Ticket Prices by Seat
Seats are broadly divided into table seats and cheering seats, and there’s also a lawn zone (잔디존).

Prices change depending on whether it’s a weekday or weekend and how popular the game is:
- Gray: weekdays / less popular games (smaller crowds)
- White: popular weekday games or Fridays (fairly big crowds)
- Blue: weekends / rivalry games / games against popular teams (close to sell-out games)
My Game Day Review

Entry opens 2 hours before the game starts. Lions Park paper tickets have player photos on them like this, which I think look really nice. Printing them is a bit of a hassle, but grab a paper ticket as a souvenir~

1️⃣ SKY Upper Reserved Seat View (1st-Base SKY Upper Reserved, Section U-7, Row 20)
I got a cancelled ticket for the 1st-base upper reserved seats (SKY 상단 지정석). It’s on the 1st-base side but close to the 3rd-base end, and since it was a Samsung home game, about 95% of the people around me were wearing Samsung jerseys.

The upper reserved seats are way up on the 5th floor, so high that I felt a touch of vertigo, but the view was great. Photos make things look smaller than they really are, so what I actually saw felt more like the photo below.

The cheering stage on the 1st-base side (응원단상, the platform where the team’s cheer squad leads the chants and songs) is out of the line of sight, so you can’t see it at all, and the 3rd-base cheering stage is too far away to see in detail.

Still, the scoreboard is very easy to see from here!

Another big plus of the 5th floor: the canopy blocks the sun really well. The sun was very strong that day, but I could watch comfortably without getting hot or burned. The lawn zone, on the other hand, is in direct sunlight during the day and looked pretty tough. If you’re sitting in the lawn zone during the day, definitely bring a sun umbrella (parasol)!

2️⃣ Handy Item for the Ballpark
If you’re not in a table seat, there’s nowhere to put your food, which is surprisingly inconvenient. Holding chicken or drinks in your hands gets awkward when you’re cheering, and you end up holding them the whole time. Looking around, I noticed lots of people using mini tables that clip into the cup holder!

It was one of those items where I thought, “Having one of these would make things so much easier.” (The one I looked at was the C.H.A portable ballpark table PRO.)

At Lions Park there are stands outside on the 1st floor before you even enter, and inside on the 2nd, 3rd and 5th floors. Check the map above and head straight to the one you want~
That’s it for my game day review at Daegu Samsung Lions Park! This baseball season, enjoy a game with a cold beer in hand ⚾️🍻
