Today I’m sharing the tips I picked up after visiting another of Disney World’s highlights, EPCOT! If it’s your first visit, I hope these help you have a more efficient and fun day.
1. Rope drop Guardians of the Galaxy!
EPCOT’s signature ride is Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind! The song on this ride is chosen at random, so it feels new every time. I recommend riding it once at rope drop, then keeping an eye on the wait time and riding it again when the line is short.
2. Where to meet Mickey and Minnie together
Disney World’s stars, Mickey & Minnie Mouse! At Magic Kingdom the wait can be fairly long – 30 to 50 minutes or more – but at EPCOT you can usually get in within about 20 minutes, which is much easier.
What’s more, at EPCOT’s character meet spot you can see Mickey, Minnie and Goofy all at once! (Three for one 💥 – what a deal!) You can’t come all the way to Disney World and not meet the characters, right? Make sure to meet Mickey and Minnie at EPCOT 🥰
3. Use the Skyliner
You can also reach EPCOT by Skyliner (Disney’s gondola system), and it helps save a lot of walking – more than you’d expect!
EPCOT’s main attractions are clustered near the main entrance, while pavilions like France (Ratatouille) and Norway (Frozen) are in the World Showcase area. France in particular is right by the Skyliner entrance, so 👉 if you’re planning to rope-drop Ratatouille, I recommend entering via the Skyliner!
I planned my route so that France was the last area I explored, and then left the park by Skyliner. If you walk from France to the entrance where the shuttles depart, it takes around 30 minutes more on foot, so the Skyliner is the better choice.
Bonus tip: if you’re staying at a resort connected to the Skyliner, even better. But it’s fine even if your hotel isn’t on the Skyliner. I stayed at Coronado Springs, which isn’t connected, and did this:
- Skyliner from EPCOT → Hollywood Studios
- Shuttle bus from Hollywood Studios → my hotel
Combining the two like this got me back efficiently! It’s a tip that saves both time and energy compared with walking all the way out to the main entrance.
4. Best fireworks viewing spots!
EPCOT’s fireworks are set off over the middle of the lake, so there are plenty of good viewing spots! I’ve marked my recommended areas on the park map in #6. I recommend arriving about 30 minutes before the show to claim a spot.
I watched from the bench area between the France and United Kingdom pavilions, and the view was wide open and the atmosphere was wonderful.
I also noticed people watching from boats out on the lake 🚤 When I looked into it, you can book a private cruise for up to 10 people for about $499 per boat. If you’re celebrating a special occasion or planning a proposal, I totally recommend it 💍

5. PhotoPass
I bought PhotoPass, and I’ve marked the best photo spots on the park map in #6 too. If you didn’t buy PhotoPass, you can hand your own phone to a photographer and they’ll often take the photo for you. However, shots that need their special cameras (like zoom shots and distortion shots) can only be viewed with a watermark in the app.
6. My EPCOT park map
This is an EPCOT park map I made myself, marked with:
- 🚩 Attractions
- 📷 PhotoPass spots
- 🎇 Best fireworks spots
so everything is easy to see at a glance. If you’d like it as a PDF, email me through the contact page and I’ll send it to you myself!
That wraps up my EPCOT tips! I’ll keep posting reviews of the other Disney World parks one by one.
I hope my blog helps make your trip just a little more magical ✨ If you have any questions or want to know more, feel free to reach out through the contact page! Thanks for reading ❤
