In this post I’m covering something a lot of you have found confusing and asked me about: how to use a Park Hopper ticket together with Lightning Lane Multi Pass.
At Disney World:
✔ a Park Hopper ticket lets you move between several parks in one day, and ✔ Lightning Lane Multi Pass cuts your wait times.
Using the two together completely changes how your day flows.
1️⃣ The basics
🎟 Park Hopper ticket
You can move freely between multiple parks in one day.
⚠️ However, you must first scan in at the park you’re entering first that day. You can’t go straight to a second park without an entry record at your first park.
※ Once you’ve entered your first park, there’s no time restriction on entering the second park. (In the past you could only hop to another park after 2 PM, but that restriction is gone now.)
⚡ Lightning Lane Multi Pass
This is the paid line-skip pass.
✔ Pre-select 3 attractions at your first park ✔ Bookings are for set time windows ✔ Use one, then book the next

2️⃣ Key rules when using both
✅ Rule 1: Pre-bookings are for your first park
When you pre-book attractions with Multi Pass, you choose all 3 at the first park you’ll visit.
Example: choose all 3 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios only. You can’t pre-book them together with attractions at another park.
🎈 Tip to keep in mind!
Popular attractions mostly sell out in the morning, so if the attraction you really want to ride is a popular one, you need to visit that park in the morning and pre-book it.
I’ve listed the popularity ranking of attractions for each park on my blog. See the posts below (in Korean) 👇
- Hollywood Studios: Hollywood Studios Lightning Lane Multi Pass Strategy and Best Route
- Magic Kingdom: Magic Kingdom Lightning Lane Multi Pass Strategy: Winter Booking Order
- EPCOT: EPCOT Lightning Lane Multi Pass Strategy: Booking Order That Works
- Animal Kingdom: Animal Kingdom Lightning Lane Multi Pass Strategy: Booking Order Guide
✅ Rule 2: After you redeem your first booking, you can book at another park
Once you’ve ridden an attraction you pre-booked at Hollywood Studios → you can then book attractions at Magic Kingdom (another park) in the app.
✔ A Park Hopper ticket is required
✅ Rule 3: Tier limits only apply to pre-bookings
These three parks use the tier system:
- Magic Kingdom
- Disney’s Hollywood Studios
- EPCOT
The limit of 1 Tier 1 + 2 Tier 2 applies only to your pre-bookings. After you’ve used your first pre-booking, you can book without tier limits.

3️⃣ Frequently asked questions
❓ Can I pre-book Multi Pass at two parks at the same time? → Not for your 3 pre-bookings. You can book at another park only after you’ve ridden one.
❓ Is there an extra charge for moving between parks? → Not at the moment.
✨ Conclusion
Used well, Park Hopper + Multi Pass can get you on 10 or more attractions in a day, but used without a strategy, it may not be worth the high price.
The keys are:
✔ Use up your first bookings as fast as possible ✔ Lock in your next park’s bookings before you move
Disney World is so huge that personally I recommend taking it easy with one park per day! 💫 But if your schedule means you have to hop between parks, list the attractions you want to ride in advance rather than focusing on sightseeing, and plan around using up your bookings quickly!
